Frequently Asked Questions
- Why should I choose you to work on my Subaru?
- We have 16 years experience working primarily on Subaru vehicles. We take
pride in our work and it is what we love to do. We often get our first time
customers stuck in the same situation, "I took my car to my mechanic and
after numerous attempts he could not fix the problem" or "My car is
overheating and after changing a couple parts they told me the engine needs
to be replaced". Often times most mechanics are not used to working on these
cars do not understand how the systems operate or do not know the common
issues with certain models. The Subaru opposed engine along with the All
wheel drive systems can be intimidating because they are unlike most engines
and drivetrains. Not knowing on their part will cost more money on your
part. Misdiagnosis can cost a small fortune, doing the job right the first
time will save you vehicle down time and money.
- What types of services do you offer?
- You name it we do it. There is rarely a job that we will turn away. We
are not the type of garage that will tell you to just take it somewhere else
because we only want the easy work.
- Some of the services we provide are listed below:
- Computerized alignments on our brand new Hunter DSP600 alignment system
- Tires, including mounting and computer balancing
- Trans flush
- PA state inspection & emissions
- Detailing
- Diagnostic troubleshooting
- Do you work on other vehicles besides Subaru?
- We service all makes and models, domestic and import. We even do work on
trailers.
- If you work on my vehicle will it conflict with my vehicle warranty?
- No. As long as you keep a record of your service history with mileage
and services performed at the proper intervals a manufacturer can not stop
you from taking your vehicle to be serviced elsewhere. We do this for you!!
We keep a computer database including all services, mileage, date and
exactly what was performed with every job.
- Do you take larger jobs normally thought to be dealer only?
- Yes we do. We often complete jobs such as engines, transmissions,
headgaskets, etc... for a fraction of the cost of taking it to the dealer.
- What are the symptoms of a vehicle with incorrect alignment?
- Have your vehicle checked if you notice:
- Excessive or uneven tire wear
- Vehicle pulls to the left or right
- Feeling of looseness or wondering
- Steering wheel vibration or shimmy
- Steering wheel is not centered when the vehicle is moving straight
ahead
- How often should I have my vehicle aligned?
- You should always follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommendation
noted in your owner's manual. As a general rule, have your wheel alignment
checked every 10,000 miles or a least once a year.
ARE YOU AWARE?
• You should test your battery every fall. If your battery is three years old or
more, consider replacing it since the chances of failure increase.
• Improper ride height of you car/truck can impact alignment angles and cause
premature wear of steering and suspension parts.
• You should have the fluid and filter changed in your automatic transmission
every two years or 24,000 miles.
• Regular oil changes are your best investment toward the longevity of your
engine!
• Change your engine oil and replace the filter every 3000 miles.
• A loose gas cap can trigger the "CHECK ENGINE" or "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light.
Make sure the cap is secure and tight.
• Chances of drive belt failure rise dramatically after four years or 36,000
miles for V-belts and 50,000 miles for serpentine belts.
• Replace your fuel filter every two years of 24,000 miles.
